Bluffing with the Best Hand
Often in the event of bluffing one does not truly know what their poker opponent actually has. You might assume, having missed a draw, or failed to connect with overcards to a flop, that because you have missed making your hand, your online poker opponent must surely have one better than you. In truth, though, quite more regularly than one might think, when you are bluffing thinking you have the worst of it, you in fact do have the best.
What many people do not realize when they’ve missed their hand is that their opponent has also missed. Often, then, when betting out with hands like ace or king high, or even with small pairs when you feel sure that your opponent must have a better piece, you are actually betting into a player who has even less than you, and yet they’ve put in money to the pot, making it look as if they had a made hand. A busted straight or flush draw is a very common hand for a player to end up with, making their high card, if you have a large high card, lesser than yours.
The point here is to realize that betting out can win a lot more pots in representation than just simply giving up on a hand assuming your online poker opponent actually got there when odds are he did not.
