Intelius’ Open-Door Culture Makes it One of the Best Workplaces
Most of us are literally hunting for a job that is conducive to our professional and economic growth. When a company is adjudged one of the best workplaces, one often wonders what its formula for success is.
Intelius, a fast-emerging online employment screening and people search provider, was named a finalist for Puget Sound Business Journal’s 2nd annual Washington’s Best Workplaces Program, its second time to be proclaimed so. The selection was based on surveys conducted to employees of 300 nominated companies and were ranked in terms of work/life balance philosophy, benefit offerings and leadership culture.
Intelius rated high in all the categories, but received special recognition in its culture. The award-giving body recognized the unique corporate culture at Intelius which fosters a non-discriminative working atmosphere, where workers from all levels are considered integral in the company’s successes. Intelius’ executives call this an open-door policy, a culture being propagated which results into a workplace that is receptive to new ideas and unity within the entire corporate structure.
Naveen Jain, Founder and CEO of Intelius, believes that it is important to create an open working environment for employees so they can exercise their creative freedom and grow professionally. He regards the Puget Sound distinction as a testament to the camaraderie present at the firm. It is due to this organizational unity and camaraderie that Intellius has emerged into a vibrant company - young, but full of accomplishments and successes to date.
Since Intellius was founded in 2003, it has reaped numerous awards for its continuous inflow of innovate products and technologies, all geared to providing consumers with information to provide safety and security for the individual and for their businesses. In 2006, the American Business Awards named Intelius Best New Company. Puget Sound Business Journal also listed it as among the top 15 Corporate Philanthropists for the company’s philanthropic efforts.
